About Us

It all started over 60 years ago with an immigrant family in Chicago. The Sarkisian’s started a small metal plating restoration business – fixing bronze, silver and gold household valuables. Eventually they moved out west and settled in Pasadena, CA where they opened up “Normandy Metal Refinishers”.By the late 1980s, Scott Sarkisian had started a second location for his family’s business in Costa Mesa, CA.  Scott hired a small, dedicated team and continued his family’s craft of refinishing and restoring family heirlooms. Starting off with a cabinet full of knobs, Scott began to develop his new endeavor, New York Hardware. Before long, people started coming back more for the extensive collection of knobs. As the business grew longtime friend, Dave "The Hardware Guy," joined the company as co-owner. Together they expanded and developed the present New York Hardware showroom.

At our Costa Mesa showroom, we have thousands of cabinet knobs, door handles and plumbing fixtures on display so you can experience the quality we strive to curate. We have the kind of service only a family can offer. We will be able to answer any questions you may have; from explaining how the different type of metal finishes are made, to how to install door knobs and hinges.

New York Hardware is comprised of a small team of highly trained experts dedicated to helping you move beyond the production builder grade knobs, handles and faucets you would find in big box hardware stores. We will find you the best handmade and made-to-order hardware from around the world – hand stitched leather knobs from England, square-cut brass hinges from Italy, and caste bronze door handles from Idaho, to name a few.

You will find New York Hardware as it is now: your one-stop shop for high-end knobs, handles and other decorative fixtures.
