What began over 60 years ago as a small family metal restoration shop has grown into one of Southern California’s most trusted destinations for luxury hardware. Still family-led and proudly local, New York Hardware continues a long tradition of craftsmanship, service, and timeless design.
A Family Legacy of Craftsmanship
The story starts more than six decades ago, when the Sarkisian family opened a small metal plating and restoration business in Chicago, carefully repairing cherished bronze, silver, and gold pieces. Their passion for craftsmanship eventually brought them west to Pasadena, CA, where they opened Normandy Metal Refinishers. By the late 1980s, Scott Sarkisian carried that legacy to Costa Mesa, founding a second location that would evolve into New York Hardware. What began with a single cabinet of knobs quickly grew into a full showroom and with the help of longtime friend and co-owner Dave “The Hardware Guy,” it became the design destination it is today.
